No less than three ski areas are situated very close to Vipiteno/Sterzing and therefore your holiday apartment in South Tyrol:
For you this means: 53 superbly prepared kilometres of slopes distributed over three variety-packed ski areas, toboggan runs down to the valley, ski schools and ski hire as well as outstanding eating establishments up the mountain and in the valley.
A ski bus takes you from your holiday apartment in Maria Trens (South Tyrol) directly to the nearest ski area. As a result you enjoy the wintry scenery and action-packed fun in the snow in a totally relaxed way without your own car.
Other fantastic ski resorts are located near Brixen (Plose and Gitschberg-Jochtal), in the Puster Valley (Kronplatz) and in the Dolomites (for example Val Gardena and Obereggen). Your apartment in the 'bircher' in South Tyrol is the perfect starting point if you are looking for a change in skiing. Exploring a new ski resort every day is fun! You should not miss the Dolomites with its spectacular panorama pists. The world-famous Sellaronda, the circumnavigation of the Sellastock on skis, is one of the biggest highlights. Only with lift facilities and on slopes do you move on this ski round trip and return at the end of the day to your starting point in Val Gardena or Val Badia.
We have even lost count of the many toboggan runs nearby. One highlight though is surely Italy’s longest floodlit toboggan run on the Monte Cavallo/Rosskopf. It is 10 km long and can be reached with the Monte Cavallo/Rosskopf cable car. The run is regularly floodlit in the evening for spectacular moonlight tobogganing! There are of course also toboggans for hire. An experience for all sledging fans.
